Ballon d'Order is the brainchild and passion project of two football-loving attorneys, Elizabeth Cotignola and Gabe Lezra.

Elizabeth Cotignola, esq.

Born and raised the child of Italian expatriates in ‘la belle province,’ the trilingual Elizabeth Cotignola (@LaDiavolina) is an attorney in Montréal, Québec, where she puts her skills to use for Europe’s largest bank, ensuring the bank’s corporate and institutional clients are not engaging in money laundering or terrorist financing. When she’s not lawyering, she enjoys yelling about Milan, the Montreal Impact, and her beloved Azzurri to anyone who will listen. Occasionally; she writes something other than tweets; she has previously contributed to Unusual Efforts, A Football Report, Kickette, Futbolita, Soccer Gods, The Soccer Wire, SB Nation, and XI Quarterly.

Gabe Lezra, esq.

American-born, Madrid-bred, Gabe Lezra (@ElEzrah) is a graduate of Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut, and of Georgetown Law in Washington, DC. Gabe founded SBNation's Real Madrid CF blog Managing Madrid, and when he's not lawyer-ing he spends most of his free time hosting and producing his two podcast babies, the Managing Madrid Podcast and the Let's Fix Football Podcast. He lives in Washington, DC with his fiancee and their puppy. He has previously contributed to, among other outlets, SB Nation Soccer, The Atlantic, CNN International, and the New York Law School Law Review.
